ABOUT

Helen Woolfenden is an Emmy-nominated Costume Designer, with more than 20 years experience. Her design skills have transformed many period and contemporary film, TV and theatre productions across multiple genres, from comedy to horror.

Having studied Costume Design, Sculpture & Fine Art in Australia, Helen furthered her craft at the Australian Opera Company, tailoring costumes for the industry’s most celebrated principals.

 

Always following her passion, Helen has travelled the globe creating costumes for leading actors, making new friends and getting lost in the jungle.

 

Her practical experience spans high fashion (Philip Treacy), traditional costume-making (Angels), visual arts (Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty in London and New York) and most recently wearable digital technology.

 

Helen has dressed the UK’s brightest artists: actors Olivia Coleman, James McAvoy, Cara Delevingne, Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan and Christian Bale; Comedians Tracey Ullman, Sharon Horgan and David Mitchell. Models Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Yasmin Le Bon; Singer David Bowie and illusionist Derren Brown.

 

Helen has also played an integral part in critically acclaimed and award-winning TV shows – including Peep Show, Star Stories, Pulling and Uncle. She is a principal member of the creative team that brought Tracey Ullman’s Show back to the UK in 2016.

 

She currently runs a successful design consulting business with a focus on creative story telling.
